Water Meter Upgrades - 2025-2026

Action Required for Some Residents - The Village of Shorewood Hills is completing a village-wide water meter reading software upgrade. To complete this upgrade, the Public Works Department must access your home to update your water meter reading equipment.

Have You Already Been Updated?
If the Public Works crew has not completed this work at your home in 2025, you must call Village Hall to schedule an appointment. Everyone will need to complete this in 2026 so please get this scheduled ASAP so staff doesn’t need to contact you.

What Work Will Be Done

If your water meter is LESS than 15 years old:

• The crew will replace the meter head and install a new reader
• Your water will NOT be shut off
• The appointment will take approximately 15 minutes
• Indoor access is required

If your water meter is MORE than 15 years old:

• The crew will replace the entire water meter along with the reading equipment
• The appointment will take approximately 20 minutes
• Indoor access is required

 

About the New System

The upgraded system allows residents to:

• Sign up for Eye on Water, an online tool to monitor your water usage
• Track daily and hourly water use
• Receive leak detection alerts and notifications of unusual water activity
• Better manage water consumption and identify potential problems early
