Salary Range: Approx. $77,500- $88,500 (DOQ)

Position Summary: The Village of Shorewood Hills (population 2,139) is seeking applicants for the position of Clerk/Deputy Treasurer. Shorewood Hills is a highly desirable community that is an inner ring suburb of Madison, Wisconsin. The Clerk/Deputy Treasurer is an appointed, non-represented, exempt position responsible for the statutory duties of Village Clerk as defined in Sec. 61.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes. The Village Clerk/Deputy Treasurer reports directly to the Village Administrator.

The Clerk/Deputy Treasurer administers all elections, serves as custodian of official Village records, and ensures compliance with Wisconsin election law, open meetings law, public records law, and local ordinances. This role requires demonstrated municipal clerk experience, the ability to interpret and apply state statutes and municipal code, and responsibility for supporting the Village Board, supervising election officials, issuing licenses and permits, and assisting with administrative and financial operations. Education and Experience: Requirements for the Clerk/Deputy Treasurer position include an associate degree in business-related field, or equivalent professional work experience. A minimum of three (3) years of municipal administrative and clerk experience is required. WMCA Clerk Certification is preferred. Additional continuing education and training may be required. Some evening work is required. Experience with Caselle/Civic Systems is a plus.
